About Me

For more than 19 years I have helped adults and older adults cope with the challenges of life.  I have worked in diverse settings giving me a unique breadth and depth of knowledge in working with people.  I am experienced with the stresses related to aging, caregiving, and life's transitions.  Assisting people with overcoming the residual effects of trauma, both acute and chronic, is a specialty of mine.  I will work with you to identify goals, solve problems, and achieve the growth you seek. The therapeutic relationship is a partnership which allows growth to occur in the space created by client and worker.

I am very active in the therapeutic process.  I have an eclectic and flexible style which means I draw from a wide range of treatment theories and tailor the treatment to the individual.  Some of the approaches with which I have expertise include:  cognitive-behavioral therapy, mind-body techniques, psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, and trauma treatment constructs.

I am licensed to practice psychotherapy in Massachusetts as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).  I received my Masters in Social Work from Boston College and was granted certification in the Relational and Multi-Contextual Treatment of Trauma from Simmons College. I have also completed Training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
